Welcome to the Country Witch’s Cottage
A place to relax, enjoy and partake in the reading of the ramblings of one solitary witch. I do think I will try and keep it interesting but I can’t promise anything…..
I am witch who follows no particular path, but I would say I am part green witch, part hearth witch, part kitchen witch, convinced if I actually knuckled down and gave it some effort a bit hedge witch but mostly I am just a witch albeit slightly eclectic and maybe a little bit bent.
My interest first peaked when I saw ‘The Craft’ at age 13 (yes, yes I know. Terribly clichéd but there it is.) I was one of the few lucky ones who had supportive parents. Most would flip their lids if their 13 year old announced ‘I wanna be a Witch’ however mine bought me my first spellbook and were quite encouraging.
I’m a mad herb lover (aren’t all witches??) so much so that I’ve finally discovered my need to properly study it and I like the thought of being a bonafide Herbalist with a diploma and everything. You may also discover that my interests are wide and varied and it may come across as though I have multiple personalities. It’s mostly the curse of being an Aries – a short attention span……….
I am also a lover of the written word. Books are my obsession and where most of my money goes. It’s a shocking habit but I tend to think that at least this one is educational…….right?
I love to garden and have recently set up an orchard at home; I’m also trying to go for the cottage garden look. I think I’m getting there……..it just takes a little time. I also like to cook but I am a mood cook. If I’m in the mood I will bang out all sorts of yummy baked goods and even a great Sabbat feast or two.
I am an initiated Priestess in the Outer Circle of the Firefly Council of Elders. I am currently working toward being initiated into the Inner Circle by completing the Clergy Program. Its slow going, life seems to get in the way sometimes. It’s actually funny because a couple of years ago if you had of asked me if I could see myself being an initiated Priestess, teaching and working my way toward becoming Ordained I would have looked at you as though you had lost your mind. Funny how life turns out sometimes. Teaching is one thing I never thought I would do, I have a condition called ‘Lack of Patience’.
Hmmm so that is probably me in a nutshell. I tend to ramble (as is evident) and I do have a strange sense of humour which may be evident in this blog from time to time. I do try to regularly blog but unless I find something utterly fascinating I do tend to let blogs slide but who knows, with my new adventures into becoming ordained and starting a herbalism diploma I may have a boat load of fascinating topics to discuss.
We’ll just have to wait and see……
Merry Meet,
ReplyDeleteHow do you do? My name is Paulette and my blog is havingwritten-rpl.blogspot.com. I was doing some blog hopping and reading when I found myself here. I like to go to the first postings of a blog to try and get to know the blogger. Reading yours I was thinking your interests even the cooking is just like myself.
However I came to the Craft about two years ago. I am learning and consider myself a Solitary Witch.
I'll be following your blog and look forward to your musings and postings.
